He was super professional making sure that the photographers, videographers, and wedding planners were all on the same page as he was. When I walked into the reception venue I was amazed by the lighting he had placed in the room, it made the entire space seem magical. Alex was the best! From the moment we met with him, he was always professional and knew exactly what he was talking about, both in terms of how to ensure that there were always a ton of people on the dance floor, as well as playing the songs that we wanted to hear. DJs and more importantly, the music, can really make or break the event, but he really went above and beyond to make sure the speeches flowed seamlessly, and he also went out of his way to work with a special guest we had perform a song at the reception. Additionally, he provided excellent lighting, which really made the dance floor pop! So many of our guests came up to me during and after the wedding to say how much they enjoyed the music. He also provided a photo booth, with props geared towards our theme (it was a British + American wedding), and those photos will be treasured forever. Alex is the best - we cannot recommend him more and we would definitely work with him again!

All of our live streaming packages come with a multi-camera option. We’ll have production level-cameras to do live audio and video switching during the ceremony. This allows us to switch between close ups and wide shots, as well as cut to another speaker or performer you may have invited to be part of the ceremony. We’ll even coordinate with the celebrant to make sure that we have the best viewing options covered without being in the way. This gives your viewers at home the chance to feel like they are right there with you on your big day.
Arguably one of the most important considerations of a live stream is the speed of your connection. Many weddings, especially in Oregon, are held outdoors in remote (and beautiful) locations, where getting even the most basic signal can be a challenge. You could have the best cameras and audio equipment in the world, but you’d still be at the mercy of a slow internet signal. One of the benefits of working with Portland Event Films is that we use cellular bonding. This allows us to use two different data plans paired together, along with whatever Ethernet and Wi-Fi options are available onsite to create a high-quality signal for your live stream that is always backed up.
We recommend streaming to either YouTube or Facebook, as these platforms will be most accessible to your friends and family. At the same time, we’ll be recording the event on our broadcast quality HD cameras. Because of the network-dependent nature of live streaming, the feed quality is typically 720p, and those watching at home may get a lower quality stream depending on their internet speed. By recording simultaneously, you’ll also have the option to upload a higher quality version of your wedding for later viewing. We understand that these are once-in-a-lifetime events so we like to have a backup recording to give our clients peace of mind.
One of the best advantages of having us take care of the live streaming at your ceremony is the ability to connect into our audio system. This means you’ll have sound covered both for those in the room, AND for those watching from home. Not only is this a great way to save money, but it also ensures that all your audio needs are covered. At pretty much any event, it's crucial that speeches, announcements, and live music can be heard loud and clear, and accessing your audio system and providing microphones and cables allows us to take control of the mix and deliver the highest quality audio possible.
The first step is to set up a consultation meeting with us. We’ll go over the details of your wedding and make sure that we’re a good fit for your event. We’ll then send over a contract for you to sign. Once this is signed, and your 40% retainer payment is received, then your date is secure.
We accept most forms of payment, including Venmo, Paypal, credit card, and debit card. There is a 3% fee charged for each credit card or debit transaction.
The very first step is setting up a consultation meeting. This can be a zoom meeting or over the phone. We prefer a zoom meeting, as this allows us to share screen and show you some specific aspects of our set up and makes it easier to explain the booking process. After the meeting, once you confirm your date (by signing your contract and making your deposit), we will then establish a time for the site walkthrough (see below). A month prior to your wedding, we’ll reach out again to set up a final check-in before your wedding. You will also need to fill out some forms on our website, which is how you will provide us with all necessary information for your event, and make any song requests. On the day of your event, we will arrive two to three hours beforehand, in order to have enough time for set up.
Many weddings are at popular venues that we’ve worked many times. But especially for sites we’ve never worked before, we highly encourage a site walkthrough beforehand to go over all the necessary details and make sure we have access to everything we need. At the site walkthrough, we’ll go over the floor plan and figure out the best spot for our set up, where we’ll be drawing power from, and other logistical details.
None of our employees will drink alcohol before or during your event. We ask that you provide a vendor meal (equivalent to what your guests will be eating) for each of our staff working your event. We’ll provide the number of staff based on the package that you’ve ordered.
Our standard DJ package start at five hours. If you need to add time to your package, that is no problem. We typically charge $150 dollars for every hour added. It’s possible to add extra time during the event, but we ask that you pay the overtime fee at that time, rather than after the event.
We provide you with the ability to make requests and create a Do Not Play list prior to the event. During the event, we will take requests from guests. If a song is requested that is on your Do Not Play list, we’ll check with the Bride or Groom before playing it to make sure it’s okay.
Our pricing package is based on hours, not on the type of event (such as a ceremony vs a reception). This means that we are able to accommodate both a ceremony and reception if it fits within the time frame of your event. Another question we get a lot is what if you’re not having a ceremony. This will not impact the price, as once again, our fees are based on hours, not the type of event. This means that we are able to cover both a ceremony and a reception with one of our standard packages.
There is no limit to how far we’ll travel. We do not charge a travel fee for any wedding within 40 miles of Portland. For venues that are more than 40 miles from Portland, we will charge a travel fee (both ways).
For each wedding, we request a floor plan from you beforehand. We will need an area that is 10x10 for our DJ space. We also ask that there are no tables in front of the DJ booth, so that there are no speakers right next to one of your tables. We prefer a clear area to the dance floor when possible.
